THE MISSION

THE OFFICE

Solivus is situated between Waterloo and Westminster in the heart of London. Overlooking the river, with views of Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament, Solivus shares a home with 100+ climate-tech businesses at the Sustainable Ventures flagship headquarters.

With hot desking, phone booth meeting rooms, community break out areas, a café and bar, and regular quiz nights and social events, you will find yourself within a unique and collaborative ecosystem.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be supporting the business by helping design our commercial rooftop solar solutions. On top of this, they will assist our sales team through their technical knowledge when liaising with clients. This role will consist of all aspects of novel lightweight PV system design from concept through to construction. You will also be involved in improving our current processes and keeping on top of current regulations and CPD. 

The role is varied, often pressurised, but always challenging and rewarding and you would be working for a dynamic company that recognises your hard work and rewards success. 

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• AC and DC electrical system designs for commercial rooftop PV systems. 

• Developing design concepts for the final connections into existing electrical infrastructure. 

• Producing technical drawings 

• Producing project documentation 

• Yield modelling using PVSyst 

• Attending site surveys for feasibility studies and pre-construction assessments 

• Supporting with product development 

• Research into the industry and potential new products 

• Staying up to date with industry regulations and best practice 

• Supporting our sales team by offering technical knowledge in client meetings 

• Continued professional development . 

THE REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

• 3+ years’ experience in electrical system design within the commercial sector 

• 3+ years’ of experience in AutoCAD or an equivalent drawing software 

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar. Other pathways into the industry will also be considered based on experience and skills. 

• Strong communication skills 

• The ability to articulate technical topics in simple, understandable terms to non-technical people 

• Being a proactive person that takes the initiative and can work under pressure. 

Desirable:

• Experience within the PV sector including DC electrical design 

• Experience using energy yield modelling tools for solar PV such as PVSyst or PVSol 

• Experience in the design and implementation of battery storage systems 

• Health and safety qualifications 

• Training in CDM regulations.

• £40k-£55k annual salary (Negotiable dependent on experience)
